Our Story:

Tattoo tonic started out from humble beginnings in 2014. Tattoo artist Craigy Lee wanted a kiwi-sourced product he could use as a petroleum jelly substitute whilst tattooing and provide as an aftercare balm to his clients. A few conversations with wife Indi got her on board and brought her knowledge of melting points and tempering and they formulated a mix of natural butters and essential oils. It was tested and trialed in our busy tattoo studio in wellington, 47 test batches later they finally had a balm that did everything they wanted it to.

We’re a small family company and we still make tattoo tonic in small batches from the best locally sourced ingredients to ensure the best quality product. Sourcing locally also helps us support other small independent kiwi business. It is now sold nationwide in some of NZ’s finest tattoo studios and just recently across the ditch in Australia.
